Panna: Tales of the Ken
Where wilderness meets water, and every frame tells a quieter story
Overview
Hidden in the heart of Central India, Panna National Park is a landscape of contrasts—rugged plateaus, deep gorges, and the serene flow of the Ken River cutting through it all.
Often overlooked, Panna is one of India’s most compelling conservation success stories—where a once-lost tiger population has made a remarkable comeback, transforming the forest into a thriving ecosystem once again.
EcoLenz brings you a 4 nights / 5 days immersive photographic journey, designed to explore this lesser-known wilderness with patience, purpose, and perspective.

Frequently asked questions
2. Is the Panna journey suitable for beginners in wildlife photography?
Yes. You don't need to be an experienced wildlife photographer. The EcoLenz journey is designed for both beginners and experienced photographers, with guidance on camera settings, composition, light, animal behaviour and ethical photography. The focus is on learning to observe before you photograph.
3. How many safaris are included in the Panna journey?
The safari schedule depends on the final journey itinerary and availability of permits. EcoLenz plans the experience to provide meaningful opportunities for wildlife observation and photography while keeping the pace comfortable rather than rushing from one safari to another.
4. What photography opportunities can I expect in Panna?
Panna offers opportunities beyond the classic tiger portrait. You can photograph tigers and other mammals in their natural habitat, wildlife behaviour, birds, landscapes, reflections, river scenes and environmental portraits. The Ken River and surrounding landscape also add a strong sense of place to your photographs.
5. What should I carry for the Panna wildlife photography journey?
Carry your camera, telephoto lens, spare batteries, memory cards, binoculars if you have them, comfortable neutral-coloured clothing, sunglasses, sunscreen, a hat/cap and personal essentials. A longer telephoto lens is recommended for wildlife photography. Most importantly, carry patience—the best wildlife moments often happen when you are quietly observing.
Some forests roar.
Panna whispers—and that’s where its magic lies.
