2. Why is this expedition 9 nights/10 days - isn't that long for one animal?
Spiti's snow leopard habitat is vast, remote, and high-altitude, so tracking requires time: days for acclimatization, travel between base points like Tabo and Kibber, and multiple extended search days (Day 4 to Day 8) rather than a single quick attempt. The length reflects the reality of high-altitude wildlife tracking, not padding.
3. What is the itinerary structure - where do we actually stay and search?
The route runs Chandigarh → Rampur → Tabo → Kibber, with the core search days (4 through 8) based around Kibber, one of the higher-altitude villages known for snow leopard activity, before returning via Rampur to Chandigarh.
4. What physical or altitude preparation do I need for this trip?
Given the high-altitude, trans-Himalayan terrain and cold conditions, participants should expect basic fitness requirements, cold-weather gear, and awareness of altitude acclimatization — though the specific physical/medical prerequisites aren't detailed in what's shared here, so it's worth confirming directly with EcoLenz.
5. When can I book this expedition, and how many people go on each batch?
Currently there's one listed departure: 30 Jan – 8 Feb, 2027 (9N/10D). Given the "patience and endurance" framing and typical snow leopard tracking logistics, batch sizes are likely kept small — worth confirming exact group size, inclusions, and cost directly via the enquiry link.
This is not an easy journey.
