Yes. You don't need prior snorkelling or wildlife photography experience. The journey is designed for both beginners and experienced photographers, with guidance on composition, light, camera settings for water and low-light conditions, and ethical wildlife and marine photography practices.
3. What is the best time to visit the Andaman Islands?
The winter and early spring months (roughly November to March) offer calmer seas, clearer underwater visibility and comfortable weather for both boat sessions and birding. Conditions can vary with monsoon timing, tides and sea state, which may affect specific activities.
4. What kind of photography opportunities can I expect?
Andaman offers a rare mix of underwater and topside photography — coral reefs, turtles and reef fish beneath the surface, alongside seabirds in flight, mangrove kingfishers, coastal landscapes, dramatic sunsets and star-filled night skies. It's an excellent journey for building a varied, story-driven portfolio.
. What should I carry for the Andaman photography journey?
Carry your camera with a versatile zoom lens, an underwater housing or a waterproof case if you plan to shoot in water, spare batteries, memory cards, a dry bag, reef-safe sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses and swimwear. Light, quick-dry clothing is recommended, along with basic snorkelling gear if you have your own.
